We’d like to welcome you to Viva Mexico, no matter whether you’re a first-timer or a regular guest. Since our opening all the way back in 1984 we have been providing the people of Edinburgh with authentic Mexican cuisine, cooked just how it is in our homeland of Mexico. At our Mexican-run family restaurant on Cockburn Street in the city’s Old Town, you’ll find a wide range of traditional Mexican specialities plus some modern updates on classic dishes. Our fajitas are said to be the best in Edinburgh!

About us

Located in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, we at Viva Mexico draw in both tourists and locals alike who love indulging in our traditional Mexican cuisine. The menu here is loaded with our favourite dishes including some of our old family recipes that have been passed down through the generations. Visit us on Cockburn Street, located only moments away from Waverley train station to try some for yourself. We look forward to serving you soon!

We are restricting bookings to allow us to carry out thorough cleaning and sanitising of tables between bookings. This is part of our effort to keep our staff and customers safe at this time. Booking is recommended as walk-in tables may not be available.
